Suzanne Lovig is a community-focused leader, a small business owner, and a dedicated public servant with a proven record of results. A longtime Woodbury resident and mother of two, Suzanne brings entrepreneurial grit, financial discipline, and a people-first leadership style to everything she does.

In 1993, Suzanne and her husband, Dave, launched TopNotch Painting LLC. Over the years, they built a company with an exceptional reputation for superior quality and customer service. In 2023, TopNotch Painting was awarded the Litchfield Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Award for best Painting Company.

As co-owner of TopNotch Painting, LLC, Suzanne understands the realities facing small businesses and working families. She knows what it means to meet a payroll, manage a household budget, and earn trust through hard work and integrity.

Suzanne has served as Chair of the Public Building Commission, as a member of the Zoning Commission, and is currently on the Board of Finance, where she has gained hands-on experience in municipal budgeting, capital planning, and responsible fiscal stewardship. She understands that every tax dollar matters because it comes directly from the people she serves.

Beyond government service, she has been deeply involved in local schools and youth athletics, supporting families, strengthening programs, and building community connections.

Suzanne has a deep respect for the public school system. Her boys proudly graduated from Nonnewaug High School. Both received scholarships after graduation, which was accomplished with the assistance of the Nonnewaug High School programs and staff. Maxwell is currently finishing his PhD at Yale University, and Cosmo is a recent graduate of UConn … Go Huskies! And, she is now excited to announce that she and her husband Dave, are soon to become grandparents.

Suzanne combines compassion with accountability, and vision with execution. She is prepared to focus on affordability, advocate for fair state funding, and protect the character and future of our towns.

Suzanne Lovig is ready to serve — and ready to deliver meaningful results. She is running to:

  • Improve Affordability – Addressing the financial pressures that families feel daily by finding ways to reduce healthcare and utility costs.

  • Secure Fair State Funding – Ensuring District 66 receives its fair share from the state so that we do not have to make up shortfalls through local taxes. This is especially true for Region 14 and Region 20 schools, where funding per student depends on multiple cost-sharing and reimbursement streams.

  • Proactively take action to make regulations work for each of our communities because if we don’t make them work for us, the state will dictate how we must proceed.

Suzanne brings a balanced approach — compassion for families, discipline in budgeting, and the backbone to ask tough questions in Hartford. She believes in collaboration, transparency, and results.

And, to top it all off, she is well known for her cooking skills, with many of her dishes being inspired by her Abuela’s secret recipes!!
